Η Εξουσία της Γλώσσας και η Γλώσσας της Εξουσίας

«Η Εξουσία της Γλώσσας και η Γλώσσας της Εξουσίας» είναι ο τίτλος του Διεθνούς Συνεδρίου του Τμήματος Σλαβικών Σπουδών του Leiden University, το οποίο θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 9-11 Οκτωβρίου 2013 στην Ολλανδία.

The Centenary Conference of Slavic Studies aims to provide a forum for interdisciplinary discussion of a theme which links the studies of Russian politics, linguistics, and history. With the overarching theme “The Language of Power and the Power of the Language,” we would like to inspire a scholarly debate and exchange of ideas about three major topics:

Linguistic Voluntarism in Russia and Eurasia (Workshop I).

The Linkage of Political and National Identities in Russia (Workshop II).

Russian History and the Culture of Remembrance (Workshop III).

General information

As the conference has both an academic and a public character, a wider audience will be present at the opening and concluding sessions. Workshop participation is by invitation only.

This conference invites contributions from researchers in a variety of disciplines: political science, sociology, linguistics, history, cultural studies, and scholars from other fields who share our interest in Russian/Slavic studies. The accepted papers will be presented and discussed during the three workshops.

The outcomes of workshops will be summarized and discussed during the concluding plenary session. The conference organization intends to publish the collected papers in an edited volume or a journal special issue.
